The Wesley Foundation
The UGA Wesley Foundation is a campus ministry that creates spaces for students to be their authentic selves, allowing them to encounter God in loving community with other college students.
I have been a part of the Wesley foundation for 3 years, serving for 2 of those years.
My sophomore year, I was a small group leader and mentor for the freshman program, Freshley. I facilitating meaningful conversation among a group of around 10 girls every Monday night. I also met with them one on one to get to know them better and help them navigate their first year of college. I also had the privilege of going on a missions trip to Saint Anns, Jamaica, to perform manual labor on homes and churches in the area.
My junior year, I was a leader on the Freshley Connect Team. As a member of this team of 10 people, I was tasked with creating a welcoming environment for freshman to come and socialize with others. Some of my tasks including greeting, decorating, initiating conversations, and planning outside events.
