In May of 2023, I had the opportunity to travel with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences on their Study Away trip to New York City, N.Y.

 

With a group of around 40 Fashion Merchandising majors and minors, I visited many fashion headquarters, manufacturers, and houses. Because our hotel was located in the garment district, we were able to walk or subway to these different locations.

 

I was able to learn from and network with the industry's leading executives and brands. We visited technology-based companies like Lectra and WindowsWear, accessories manufacturers like M&S Schmalberg, and other companies like Hue Brands and Dolce and Gabbana.
